Background
The El-Hibri family is dedicated to building a better world by encouraging interfaith dialogue and by promoting the universally shared values of Islam: peace, charity and civic responsibility. Under the direction of Chairman Fuad El-Hibri, the Foundation focuses on four mission-critical initiatives:
- Peace Education
- Interfaith Dialogue
- Humanitarian Aid
- Social Justice
Established in 2001, the Foundation is headquartered in Washington, D.C. where it hosts programs, forums and other educational events on subjects that support its mission. The foundation’s Grant History consists of more than thirty grants to organizations in support of these initiatives.
Giving back to the community and the fundamental belief in charity continues to be an essential and integral part of the El-Hibri family tradition. Proud of the legacy of charitable works by his family, in 2007, the late Mr. Ibrahim El-Hibri, made a substantial gift to the Foundation to ensure that its beneficial work continues. Today, under the direction of his son, Fuad El-Hibri, the Foundation seeks to help the less fortunate, bring about lasting change in interfaith understanding and global peace, and improve our world. It is in the tribute of Ibrahim El-Hibri’s memory and the great work he did that the headquarters building has been named in his honor.
The El-Hibri Charitable Foundation is as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
