Harvard Divinity School
Religions and the Practice of Peace (RPP) Public Speaker Series and Colloquium
Harvard Divinity School’s (HDS) Religions and the Practice of Peace (RPP) public speaker series and colloquium will explore strategies to raise awareness of the contributions that Islam, Christianity, Judaism and other religions have made and can make to peace, in order to promote interfaith understanding. It will convene sessions with faculty and experts, faculty and graduate students of the colloquium working group, and then a broader audience. Each session will highlight a critical need for increased attention to the underappreciated and understudied contributions that religion and religious communities can make to peacebuilding. Harvard’s initiative was launched in 2014 to create a permanent space at the University for cross-disciplinary engagement, scholarship, and practice that explore spiritual and religious resources that can promote mutual understanding, respect and peacebuilding.
