Mission:

Building a better world by encouraging interfaith dialogue and by promoting the universally shared values of Islam: peace, charity and civic responsibility.

Vision:

The El-Hibri Charitable Foundation seeks to:

  • Improve the human condition through application of the universally shared values of Islam: peace, charity and civic responsibility,
  • Foster interfaith dialogue, and
  • Find common ground and solutions for global challenges affecting humankind.

The Foundation advances these goals by supporting organizations from diverse backgrounds around the world whose work supports our vision and exemplifies these shared values.

Initiatives:

Established in 2001, the Foundation focuses on four mission-critical initiatives:

We provide grants to charitable organizations whose work is compatible with our mission and by sponsoring educational forums, dialogues and other consensus-building activities that align with our mission.

The Peace Education Initiative advances global peace and understanding by furthering the ideals of cultural diversity, nonviolence, conflict transformation and reconciliation. We provide grants to organizations that carry out activities related to peace-building, peace education and conflict resolution.

The Interfaith Dialogue Initiative advances peace-building through inter-religious understanding, highlights common ground among the three Abrahamic faiths and identifies the positive contributions of each to global civilization.  Emphasis is placed on facilitating inter- and intra- religious tolerance, and respect and reconciliation among the Abrahamic faiths by supporting innovative interfaith activities and partnerships.

The Humanitarian Aid Initiative provides grants to organizations dedicated to compassionate assistance to the world’s most disadvantaged and whose work exemplifies charity and service to humanity.  We are committed to partnering with others to address issues of global poverty and ensure adequate living facilities, food and medical care in societies around the world.

The Social Justice Initiative seeks to build a better world by promoting civic responsibility, equality, justice, cooperation, mutual understanding and a sense of community in solving the world’s problems.  We provide grants to organizations that advance human rights and respect, and who foster a just and peaceful world irrespective of ethnic origin, gender, race, religion or class.
