The Foundation funded the construction of an orphanage and education center in Beirut, Lebanon named the Sheikh Mohamad Tawfiq El-Hibri Hall. This multi-purpose orphanage provides a home, cares for and educates more than 200 orphans and at-risk youth between the ages of five and thirteen years. Care includes accommodations, schooling, rehabilitation and guidance. Accommodations include clothing, three meals per day, primary health care, hospitalization, vaccination and medicines. Beyond providing for the children’s needs, Dar Al Aytam seeks to empower each resident to develop to his or her full potential and lead a constructive life through education. Academic schooling includes linguistics, mathematics, social studies and computer training. Vocational training includes welding, plumbing and sanitation management. By 2009, this site has helped more than 1500 orphans and at risk youths.

In 2009, the Foundation began funding the construction of a second orphanage and education center located in Kobbeh, Lebanon, a town south of Beirut. This new, state-of-the-art facility will feature several buildings and utilize green architecture and construction materials. Similar to the Sheikh Mohamad Tawfiq El-Hibri Hall, it will provide services to orphans and at-risk youth, including accommodation, schooling, rehabilitation and guidance. The center is being named after Ibrahim El-Hibri.

As stated by Mr. Farouk K. Jabre, President of the Board of Trustees of Dar al Aytam Al Islamiyah:

“Through the support of the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation and Ibrahim El-Hibri, the multi-purpose center built with Foundation funds, named the Sheikh Mohamad Tawfiq El-Hibri Hall, is a beacon of benevolence and generosity in Lebanon. By providing comprehensive care to orphans and socially needy children, the individuals are prepared for independence in life through schooling and vocational training. In addition, the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation’s support for the costs and expenses of orphans reflect the philanthropic good intentions of the Foundation to help those who are the most underprivileged in life.”
