About This Grant
To support Muslims and Jews Inspiring Change (MAJIC) High School Leadership Program.
NewGround convenes programming for professionals, high school leaders and public programs around shared Abrahamic values of respect, diversity, mercy, and compassion. This grant allows NewGround to add at least 14 media outreach training sessions and peace education workshops for 20 Muslims and Jews Inspiring Change (MAJIC) High School Leadership Program, which disseminates shared Abrahamic values of mutual respect and understanding through bi-weekly workshops and culminates with a collaborative service project. Young leaders are trained on pitching to media outlets and writing op-eds. Grant support will also support the creation of three video shorts for online dissemination to amplify the impact and reach of the message of our changemakers.
Recognized by the Harvard University Pluralism Project as a "promising practice" and the White House for our effective bridge building among faith communities, the main objectives of NewGround's signature programs include leadership training designed to build appreciation of cultural diversity, increase empathetic ability, develop conflict transformation and problem-solving skills, and increase activism and leadership in the community. NewGround has reached over 150,000 people through their online presence and have over 180 alumni change-makers.
